Benoît Lalonde, DMD, MSD, FRCD (c)

Having graduated in dentistry in 1982 (U of Montreal), Dr. Lalonde completed a year-long Multidisciplinary Residency program at St-Mary's Hospital Centre. After practicing in remote areas (Indian and Inuit communities) for two years, he established his private practice in Montreal until 1989. During this period, he was also attached to St-Mary’s Hospital and Rivière-des-Prairies Hospital, and was a clinical instructor in the Emergency/Diagnostic Clinic at both the University of Montreal and McGill University. He completed an Oral Medicine specialty training program and a Master degree in Dental Science (M.S.D.) at the University of Washington in Seattle in 1992. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Dr. Benoît Lalonde is a specialist in Oral Medicine, Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Montreal and is head of the Diagnosis/Emergency clinical service at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Montreal.

Affiliations and extra-curricular functions:

  • President of the Association of Oral Medicine Specialists of Quebec (2002-2006);
  • Treasurer of the Federation of Dental Specialists of Quebec (2007-2010);
  • Head of the Department of Stomatology at the CHUM / Notre-Dame Hospital from 2006 to 2011
  • Member of the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (ODQ);
  • Member of the Canadian Dental Association (CDA);
  • Member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM).
  • Member of the Canadian Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Medicine.
